How To Take Care
Of Your Bouncy Castle
The
Advantage
We
at Bounce-a-lot only use the best materials to ensure
our Bouncy castles and Inflatables are very long lasting and
reliable for year after year use.
Bouncy castles
actually need minimal maintenance there is in fact
verylittle that can go wrong.
Simply by handing out a printed sheet or card to each of your
customers when they hire one of your inflatables outlining a
few simple "rules" and guidelines should be sufficient
to
ensure your Bouncy castles are collected in the same condition
as
when delivered.
This can be incorporated in your hire agreement
which we strongly recommend is used.
For
Example:
No shoes to be worn on the Bouncer
No food and drink
No Glasses or items of jewelry
Children must be supervised at all times
No pets
No adults (unless designed specifically for adults)
Please
see our Sample
hire agreement for fuller
details
It is very
difficult to actually damage a Bouncy castle by accident
if these guidelines are adhered to.
In fact we have been in the hire business for the past 13 years
and have never had a Bouncy castle returned damaged in all that
time !
We suggest,
when collecting your bouncer or inflatable from your
hire customer , to have a quick look around it before deflating
as any
damage would be fairly obvious.
As we insist
all our castles are not only double stitched but
re-enforced for extra strength with webbing stitched
along all the bed seams,it is normally up to 3 years plus before
any
seams would need restitching due to normal wear this is based
on high
usage and would obviously last longer if not used so much.
We also give
a 12 months RTB WARRANTY on all our inflatables,
for extra peace of mind.
Minor
repairs are NOT expensive,
for a full bed stitch expect to pay around £150.
Even if you
were unfortunate enough to have one of your Bouncers
damaged maliciously, i.e. with a sharp instrument
or similar, they can usually be put right and repaired by replacing
panels etc. Obviously we would need to inspect
the unit to assess the damage and the repair costs but can usually
give
you some idea of the expected cost over the phone.
All our Bouncy
Castles come with a full 12 months test/safety
certificate and we would not advise anyone to purchase a Bouncy
Castle
without one. Indeed most Insurance Companies require one before
issuing a certificate for Public Liability Insurance.
These certificates
are only issued after very thorough tests have
been performed on the Inflatable to ensure that it will stand
up to the
purpose it has been manufactured for and that it is safe to use.
We actually check and test all walls, towers , bed seams, wall
strengtheners
steps, as well as anchor points and accessories and also test
that the
unit holds enough pressure to give a firm footing etc
Electric
fans or blowers last for years some of ours are still going
strong after 10 years, but if you need to purchase
one or buy an additional petrol one which can be very useful for
events
where there is no access to electricity, we sell them
on their own please look on our
additional
extras page
All our electric fans actually come with a full 2 years
manufacturers warranty.
CLEANING
Bouncy castles
are very easy to keep clean and mostly stay fairly
clean by themselves.
We find that a decent wash once a year, plus generally wiping
any muddy or grubby parts as required is sufficient to keep them
in mint condition.
See hints below for our recommendations.
HINTS
& TIPS
Please find
here some special information we have put together
through our own experience over the years, which hopefully will
assist you and make things just that little bit easier.
If you have any hints or tips which have worked well
for you and don't mind sharing them,we would be delighted
to include them
please
let us know !
1/
You can purchase special cleaning solution, but
we have found that ordinary washing up liquid and a jet wash
works brilliantly and can't be beaten !
If you haven't got a jet wash on a gentle setting, a bucket
of warm
soapy water and a sponge will do the trick, plus a nice warm day
to dry them off quickly. Please note the setting must be gentle,
as
although the paint we use is best quality and hardwearing and
does
not come off ,some people who have purchased inflatables
elsewhere have noted that the
paint can actually come off in this way

3/
When staking
your bouncy castles down
with your anchor stakes, instead of putting the stakes directly
through
the loops from the bouncer simply thread a small piece of rope
approx. 2 ' long through, putting the stakes through the rope.
This gives your castle a little bit more movement and the stakes
do
not rub on the bottom of the castle as well as prolonging the
life of the loops.
N.B
Please ensure the stakes are always knocked well into the
ground to prevent accident occurring by Children or adults
tripping over them .

Some
people also paint the tops of their anchor stakes with
florescent paint so they are easily located
in the dark when coming to collect your inflatable at the end
of the
day,and are more noticeable to prevent trips and falls.
4/
A sack truck is ideal for transporting Bouncy
castles backward and forwards
from your vehicle to your customers premises,it saves your back
,
is easy to use and inexpensive to buy.
You can actually but these from us or from any hardware store

5/
If your Bouncy castle gets wet when out on a days hire,
and
has to be rolled up and transported still wet, then don't forget
to
put it up at your earliest convenience to allow it to dry properly, and
try not to store it whilst wet, which is not recommended
6/
If you do manage to get mildew on your castle or
inflatable, using a solution of 1/2 bleach and 1/2 water directly
on the mildew stains should do the trick !
Make sure bleach is not in contact with the vinyl material for
any length of time as it could cause fading.
After using a bleach/water solution, rinse immediately
and air dry it thoroughly before rolling it up.
7/
For removing old artwork or say a telephone number from
a used Bouncy Castle you may have purchased, you can
actually use cellulose thinners available in most hardware
shops for a few pounds. You must use it very sparingly otherwise
it will actually fade the PVC, and please follow any safety
instructions on the tin.
8/
Removing Balls from a Ballpool
Always carry a large plastic bin with you, this is excellent for
scooping
up a large quantity of balls at once, and work excellently in
conjunction
with our Carry nets!
Another idea is to ask the customer to get the children to play
a
party game at the end of the day , putting the balls away, and
the
child who finds a ball with a coloured spot on it will win a pack
of sweets
(you provide the sweets and allow the parent/supervisor to make
sure
the marked ball is thrown in the last 30 or so balls).
Another idea is to charge an extra £5 each time a ballpool
is hired
out and explain to the customer that if the balls are all back
in the
nets/bags at the time of collection then you will give them a
£5 refund.
Alot of people use this method as they find it works well because
everyone likes to think they are saving money
or actually getting some back!
9/
Never pull any bouncy castle around with
the anchor points, if you
need to reposition them in a garden as it can obviously strain
or damage them.
10/
Always be extremely careful when going through narrow gateways,
as you can easily catch the sides of the inflatable
11/
If
possible always pack your Bouncy Castles away in a Carry Bag.
All Bounce-A-Lot Bouncy Castles come with one of these and also
it prevents any risk of damage during delivery,as often damage
can
occur by the inflatable catching on or rubbing against the sides
of
gates, walls or fences
12/
In
windy conditions always fit a raincover when the Bouncy Castle
is
deflated, otherwise you could end up getting taken for a ride.
Ball Carry/Wash Nets

After
repeated use, Ballpool balls like everything else
can become grubby and marked.
As
Ballpools are often used by very small preschool children
and tots as well as school age kids ,who are sometimes prone to
trying to put these balls in their mouths it is of utmost importance
that
they are kept clean and hygienic.
We
have found these heavy duty nets an ideal solution to the problem
of
washing large quantities of plastic balls.
Simply
bag up and spray with a jetwash
They
are incredibly strong and durable, made from 2" mesh.
Each bag is 4' 11" deep & 2' 11" wide
with a draw string top
Each
net holds up to 500 Ballpool Balls very loosely for adequate
washing purposes.
They will hold more for storage/carrying
Only £10 each plus postage and packing
